Clogherhead harbour car park to be resurfaced and power points installed

The carpark at Clogherhead harbour is to be resurfaced and power points for car charging and camper vans installed.

The good news was announced by Louth County Council’s Senior Engineer Mark Johnson at yesterday evening’s meeting of the Borough District of Drogheda.

He was responding to a request from local Councillor Declan Power who welcomed the announcement.

“This good news is very much welcomed for the Clogherhead area” Councillor Power said.

“This car park is frequently full, especially during weekends. The car park has stunning views of the harbour and the mountains of Mourne as they sweep down to the sea.

“People can now continue to park safely as they walk the head or the harbour and contribute to the local economy.

He added that the additional features of electrical points is a welcome bonus for the car park and another great tourist enhancement for this popular visitor area.
