Community Historian Brendan Matthews will present the last of his fascinating heritage Walk ‘n’ Talk series of 2021 on Wednesday evening next, August 18.
Beginning in the Car-Park opposite the entrance to the Drogheda Garda Station at 7.30 pm., Brendan will speak about the origins of the Old Abbey and surrounding area.
Then the Walk ‘n’ Talk moves to the nearby Abbey Car-Park where some fascinating tales of Drogheda`s `Storied-Past` will be told.
The tour will then move across Dominic’s Bridge over the River Boyne to Dominic’s Park via the underpass at the Bridge-of-Peace where Brendan will bring the Heritage Evening Tour to a close with some very significant stories on the mythology and folktales of the great Boyne River.
Note: There is no-Charge for this event; however, donations for the continued research and study of community history will be greatly appreciated on the evening.
