DkIT celebrates 50th anniversary with free concert at Droichead

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) are fifty years old this year and to celebrate they are hosting a fabulous free concert in Droichead Arts Centre on Saturday 14th of May at 7 pm.

This special event will showcase the work of music students and lecturers featuring the Institute’s Music Department, supported by the Audio & Music Production programme.

It will feature guest performances by the famed Porto-based Curso de Musica Silva Monteiro.

A variety of genres will be presented, with solo, duet, ensemble, and singer/songwriter performances. Tickets are free but advance booking is recommended. 

DkIT has a rich heritage in Music and offers undergraduate courses such as BA (Hons) in Music, BA Musical Theatre and there are also several Post Graduate programmes including Master’s in Music Technology and Music for Screen. The Institute additionally has an internationally renowned and award-winning music research department.

DkIT’s Music courses are based in the Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music, which is the creative hub of the Institute.

Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities including recording studios, performance spaces and discipline-specific lab spaces.

The Music department regularly host a popular series of public events including concerts, exhibitions, showcases and conferences that enrich the cultural life of the Institute and region.
