Songs for Sean, a commemoration of Drogheda born singer Sean Healy who died earlier this year in Australia, will be held in the Market Bar, Magdalene St on Friday June 24th at 8.30pm.
Sean was also well known for his involvement with football as a player and manager of Grove Rangers, before moving to Australia, where his three sons Nigel, Gavin and Alan are a hugely popular band “The Healys”, who returned to Drogheda in 2019 for four appearances in McHugh’s during the Fleadh.
Up to 20 artists will perform on the night and anyone who remembers “Seanie” is invited. Sean played gaelic football with the Oliver Plunketts and Naomh Mhuire and worked at various times in W & C McDonnells, An Post and Lally Electrics
The event is being organised by Paschal O’Connor, John McCormack, Liam Reilly and Collette Nugent.
