Your guide to what’s happening in the Drogheda area July 6 -12

The Otherside Festival rolls into the Rock Farm in Slane this weekend bringing music and comedy, wellness and hot tubs, glamping and whatever you’re having yourself to a host of cleverly designed and beautifully decorated stages.

Expect local food vendors, a sit down restaurant offering brunch and evening meals  pop up bars serving delicious cocktails, wine and ice cold draught throughout the weekend. See othersidefestival.ie for details. 

Other highlights include the ever popular Summer Fair at St. Peter’s Church of Ireland on Saturday, cellist Lori Goldston in the Droichead Arts Centre on Saturday, the opening of the Louth Craftmark Connective 22 Exhibition inMillmount on Friday and, for something a bit different, how about the Annual Charity Sheepdog Trials at Ballymacan, Collon – “Come-Bye” my darlings!

Wednesday July 6th          

Heritage Walk & Talk Led by Brendan Matthews outlining the life, times and death of Drogheda Radical Weaver & Song Writer John Sheil. Departs Fair Green at 7.30pm/ Free but donations welcome.

Thursday July 7th 

Farmers Market – Rock Farm, Slane 11am – 4pm

Hurling – Louth Senior Championship – St Fechins v Knockbridge in Beaulieu 7.30pm

Bingo – In aid of Drogheda Special Olympics Group in the Barbican Centre 8pm

Friday July 8th                

Exhibition Launch – Louth Craftmark Connective 22 Exhibition will be launched by Deputy Ged Nash in Gallery 13, Millmount Centre 6pm

Drive In Bingo – O’Raghallaigh’s GAA Centre 7.30pm. Gates open 6pm, walk-ins welcome.

Airtricity League of Ireland – Drogheda United v Dundalk in Head in the Game Park 7.45pm.
