The Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) has been awarded €1.3 million to support a range of capital investments.
The funding, was announced yesterday by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris.
The money is to be used for key capital investment priorities including supporting universal access to education, energy efficiency and decarbonisation upgrades, general ICT and equipment-related upgrades, health and safety works, building upgrades, minor works and equipment.
Welcoming the announcement, Local Fine Gael TD Fergus O’Dowd said:
“At a time when third level institutions face significant climate challenges this funding will certainly provide DKIT with opportunities to make the campus a greener environment.
“This €40 million in national funding is part of ongoing investment in the higher education sector under and reaffirms a strong commitment to public investment in higher education infrastructure.”
