Education Minister Simon Harris visits St Mary’s DS

St. Mary’s Diocesan School were delighted to welcome Minister Simon Harris to their School on Monday to speak to their 5th and 6th Year students.

Minister Harris was en-route to Drogheda Institute for Further Education where he announced plans for a major €4.5 million investment in Further Education in the Drogheda area.

Head Prefect Hugh Sowray and Deputy Head Prefect Jon Canning welcomed Minister Harris to St. Mary’s and introduced him to members of the Board of Management, the Parents Council,  Minister of State Thomas Byrne and Fergus O’Dowd TD.

During his talk Minister Harris outlined, to the students, their options in apprenticeships, further and higher education, grants and how all this information can be accessed via the cao.ie/options website.   

He spent some time chatting with students and staff and posing for photos.

He also made reference to exciting developments to come regarding further, higher education and apprenticeships in the Louth Meath area.

It was a pleasure to have Minister Harris to visit St. Mary’s …an exciting start to the year!
