Every year in the run up to Christmas volunteers for the charity Team Hope, an Irish Charity working to help impoverished children in Eastern Europe and Africa, send thousands of shoeboxes filled with gifts to some of the poorest children in the world.
Last year almost 2,000 boxes of Christmas joy were donated from generous people living in Drogheda and the surrounding areas.
Team Hope want to keep sending shoeboxes and they are seeking volunteers from the 7th November to early December for their checking centre in Drogheda and drivers to collect from various drop off points in the locality.
If you can spare an hour or more they would be very grateful. Anyone interested in volunteering please contact Emma O’Kennedy Coordinator for Team Hope Drogheda on 086 360 0 303.
Their checking centre is based in St. Nicholas G.F.C Rathmullan, Drogheda. Shoebox gifts can be dropped off there from Tuesday 8th to Tuesday 15th November.
The centre opening times are Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri 9.30 to 17.00 and Wednesday 9.30 to 12.30.
There is also a new drop off point this year at the Mill Enterprise Hub, Newtown Link Rd, Stagreenan, Drogheda, Co. Louth, A92 CD3D. Opening hours are Mon – Fri 9.00 to 17.00.
