A man is due in court today to face charges in connection with a number of armed robberies in the Drogheda area in recent weeks.
Gardaí arrested and charged the man following the robberies which took place between 15th January, 2023 and 1st February, 2023.
A search warrant was obtained and was executed at a residence in Drogheda on Wednesday morning 15th February, 2023. During the course of the search an imitation handgun was seized.
The man, who is aged in his late 40s, was arrested and taken to Drogheda Garda station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He has since been charged and is due to appear before Dundalk District Court this morning Thursday 16th February, 2023 at 10.30a.m.
Garda investigations are ongoing.
