“The star of the show was their featherblade beef on mash – to die for!”
The Weavers Bar and Venue in West Street, Drogheda has won the “Modern Gastro Pub of the Year in Leinster award at the 2023 YesChef Awards held at the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk on Monday May 8th.
Brian Browning, who took over as proprietor of The Weavers last November, told Drogheda Life that he is delighted with the award.
“Our head chef Chris Savage has spent the last five years at The Weavers and we were obviously right to promote him to Head Chef in November” he said. “I’m thrilled that Chris and the crew have achieved such excellence during my short reign at The Weavers.”
“When we took over last November we set about strengthening the team under Chris s leadership and it surely has paid off” he added.
“The Weavers is a well-established venue in town and food is a big part of the operation. I and the team at Weavers Bar & Venue are delighted to see that their commitment to excellence in our food offering along with our first class service has been recognised.
“The award gives recognition to the professionalism that Chris has brought to operation and no doubt our summer menu, due to be launched soon, will excite our regulars and newcomers alike to our magnificent venue.
