M1 Drogheda Chamber Skillnet has partnered with Generation Ireland and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to launch two industry-leading bootcamps, focused on IT Security, set to begin this November and December.
These programmes are a result of funding secured from Skillnet Ireland’s Skills Connect programme, the Government of Ireland’s leading business support agency dedicated to advancing the competitiveness and innovation of Irish businesses.
In a strategic partnership with Generation Ireland, an industry leading not-for-profit entity, M1 Drogheda Chamber Skillnet aims to transform the education-to-employment journey.
Generation Ireland offers pathways to those who are unemployed or underemployed and its programmes have historically generated tangible business value for employers and have had a lasting impact on participants’ careers.
“This collaboration underscores our commitment to fostering regional growth and strengthening our workforce by providing cutting-edge, industry-relevant training,” said Joe Lynch, M1 Drogheda Chamber Skillnet Manager. “We aim to cater for 22-25 learners for each bootcamp, with a significant portion anticipated to be from counties Louth and Meath.”
M1 Drogheda Chamber Skillnet’s dedication to addressing both technical and non-technical skill needs of the local businesses is unwavering. These bootcamps are an example of how enterprise-led workforce development can not only cater to business needs but can also create a pool of highly skilled professionals ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow, today.
Amazon Web Services Country Lead Ireland and Operations Director Neil Morris added: “We are delighted to partner with Generation Ireland and M1 Skillnet to provide training through our pioneering AWS re/Start programme to people in the Louth and Meath region looking to launch a career in tech and develop new skills.
AWS has been investing in communities in Ireland for over 15 years and this partnership highlights our ongoing commitment to widening access to jobs and supporting under-represented groups and young people in the areas we operate in. AWS re/Start plays a vital role in bridging the skills gap in Ireland and helps learners gain the key technical skills they need to work in entry and mid-level Cloud and tech roles.”
For those interested in participating in these bootcamps or businesses seeking to leverage this opportunity for their workforce.
