Drogheda Community Safety and Wellbeing Event

Drogheda Implementation Board, in partnership with Louth Local Development’s Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme are hosting a Drogheda Community and Wellbeing Event in the Holy Family Parish Centre in Ballsgrove on the morning of Tuesday 14th November with two sessions, the first from 10am-11.30am and the second from 11.30am-1.00pm.

This event, being held on the anniversary of the first All Island Community Safety Conference, which the Drogheda Implementation Board also co-hosted, is about empowering people to know where to go for help when they need it and to feel more connected to their community.

Fr. Peter McVerry will be delivering the keynote speech and there will be over 20 stands and interactive exhibits at the event including CPR demonstrations; blood pressure checks; CV Clinic; demonstrations on keeping safe in your home and emergency service vehicles on site.

The event will also feature information stands on physical, mental and financial wellbeing; crime prevention supports including specialist Garda units; and community safety supports including several Louth County Council services.

It is a ticketed event and over 50 community organisations have been invited to apply for tickets for the people they support. A limited number of tickets are available for the general public and these can be applied for by contacting Tara Stacey in Louth Local Development at tara.stacey@lldc.ie or 087 9188517 by Friday 10th November.

General public access tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis and a waiting list will also be in operation.
