Crime Prevention talk for minorities and others receiving abuse

It is a sad reflection of the depths that society has sunk to that minority groups feel threatened and often cannot go about their daily lives without being confronted by taunts, harassment and often violence.

The organiser of the Drogheda LGBTQI group Peter James Nugent, who is also standing as an Independent candidate in Drogheda Urban in next year’s local elections, is to host a crime Prevention talk at the Martello Room at Millmount Museum on Wednesday 22nd of November.

“Join us for a lunchtime chat to discuss staying safe around Christmas in Drogheda. An Garda Síochána will talk about anti-social behaviour in communities, drug awareness and LGBTQI in the community” Peter James said.

This talk came about after Peter James received lots of emails from the public regarding anti-social behaviour and homophobic attacks in certain areas of Drogheda.

“As we are coming up to Christmas it’s a good way to educate to keep safe over Christmas with home, being out and attending events over New Year” Peter said.
