A man was due to appear before Dundalk District Court today to face charges in connection with an incident which occurred outside a pub in Collon in the early hours of Saturday morning during which a gun was fired.
On Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, in Collon, County Louth, Gardaí were alerted following an incident involving the discharge of a firearm outside a licensed premises. There were no reported injuries in the incident. A man in his 30s was arrested and a firearm was seized.
The man was detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda Station in County Louth. Subsequently, he has been released from the provisions of Section 30 and charged in connection with the case.
The Garda investigation into the incident is ongoing.
