Connect FRC women’s group’s coffee morning for Gaza

Like millions of people the world over, members of the Connect FRC women’s group in Moneymore are horrified by the horrors of the attacks taking place in Gaza.

Feeling helpless when confronted by the latest atrocities being beamed into our homes by the TV news bulletins, they began looking round for some way to express their horror and perhaps to help in some small way to relieve the human suffering.

So they hosted a coffee morning for Gaza and invited Palestinian woman Anwar Mohammed who gave an insightful and eye-opening account of what life is like in Gaza.

They also sold handmade crocheted watermelon keyrings and organised a raffle to raise much needed funds for charities working on the ground in Gaza and Palestine.

If you would like to hear more about the crochet project contact Sinead on (041) 984 6608 to get involved.
