A group of little superstars from Moneymore have just finished recording their second single, it’s called ‘Robot Swag’ and is a follow up to their previous single ‘Moneymore After-School Rap’.
This recording is a collaboration between Boomerang Youth Cafe and Moneymore After-School, under the umbrella of Drogheda Youth Development.
The young people visited Boomerang over Easter and immediately got into the creative flow in the basement studio at Boomerang.
“The lyrics were coming easy, some of the leaders even contributed to the lyrics (Well done Amanda!)” spokesperson Sean Mc Cluskey told Drogheda Life. “The beats were blasting out of the speakers, various dance moves were unveiled and when the creative storm came to a halt, we were left with an original song called Robot Swag!”
Sean said the 80’s inspired tune is based around the kids’ obsession with robots. “Their obsession obviously spilled over in this song, along with some fears about technology taking over and destroying humanity!” he said.
“It was a great day of recording and making robot noises in the sound booth, and all of the young people contributed to the recording process and learned some new skills, so they should all be very proud of themselves! The song will be released across all major streaming platforms on June 4th.”
