It’s part and parcel of Christmas in Drogheda and this year the Drogheda Male Voice Choir and their Musical Director, David Leddy, will present their “Christmas Melodies” Annual Concert in the TLT on Friday the 6th of December at 8pm.
The popular Drogheda Choir have a busy schedule coming up to the Christmas Festivities when they will sing at a Mass for Father Derek and his congregation in the Holy Family Church in Ballsgrove.
They will also sing at the launch of Drogheda soprano, Amie Dyer’s Christmas record launch, “Silent Night” on Sunday the 1st of December and will fulfil their annual commitment to the residents in St Mary’s Hospital in Drogheda on the Wednesday the 11thof December.
The Tredagh Lodge in Greenhills will hear their melodies on Thursday the 19th of December and then it’s on to Mornington Church for a wedding on Friday the 27th of December before they complete their Christmas schedule by singing at a special Mass and Concert for the residents of the MMM Motherhouse in Beechgrove in January 2025.
However, their main focus, as always, will be on their “Christmas Melodies” annual concert in the TLT which is the highlight of the year for the choir and their supporters.
Once again they will have as their guests this year; the wonderful Drogheda Sopranos, Amie Dyer and Hannah O’ Brien. These two young ladies have now accomplished themselves in serious opera singing circles and are performing nationally and internationally.
Niamh Leddy has been an ever present with the choir on their Christmas Concerts and will also sing with them again this Christmas. Alison Comyn has been the host and compere since the Drogheda Male Voice Choir began their Christmas Concerts in the TLT in 2014 and she will complete her tenth year this Christmas.
