Expressions of Interest are invited from experienced and reputable operators to deliver a Family Funfair Festival at Blackrock Lower Carpark from Friday 14 August to Sunday 16 August 2026.


Event Overview

The proposed funfair festival aims to bring the community together in a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment, celebrating family-friendly entertainment while promoting:

  • Local engagement
  • Community wellbeing
  • Inclusive, accessible activities for all ages


The event is intended to be welcoming, vibrant, and culturally sensitive, providing high-quality attractions that appeal particularly to children and families.


Scope of Interest


Operators are invited to submit details outlining their capacity to provide a family-focused funfair,
which may include (but is not limited to):


Children’s and family rides

  • Traditional funfair attractions and games
  • Ancillary entertainment suitable for all ages
  • High standards of presentation, safety, and customer care


Key Requirements

Interested operators should demonstrate:
Proven experience operating family funfairs or similar events
Full compliance with Louth County Council Funfair Policy 2026
Full compliance with health & safety legislation and best practice
Appropriate insurance coverage as per Louth County Council Funfair Policy 2026
Submission of Safety Certification in compliance with regulations
Commitment to inclusive and accessible event provision
Strong crowd management and site stewardship practices
Willingness to work collaboratively with Louth County Council and local stakeholders.

All attractions and operations must align with the community-focused ethos of the event.


Location & Dates


Venue: Blackrock Lower Carpark, Blackrock, Co Louth
Dates: 14–16 August 2026 (setup from 13 th Aug at 6pm and takedown by 17 th Aug at 10am)

Company profile and relevant experience
Overview of proposed attractions and operations
Evidence of insurance and safety compliance
References from previous events (where available)


This Expression of Interest does not constitute a formal tender, but will be used to inform the
selection process for a suitable operator.


Closing Date

All Expressions of Interest must be submitted to Events@louthcoco.ie by 12 noon on 22 nd May
2026.
