Sponsored Stay Awake event a great success
Young people, what will they get up to next? Sometimes we adults despair of them but it’s only a minority of young people that get into trouble or misbehave.
Most kids are inherently good people, like us all they just want to be respected, listened to and encouraged and they will come good.
How about staying awake all night to raise funds for two very worthy local charities?
That’s what members of the Boomerang Youth Club did one Friday night a couple of weeks ago, they set themselves the challenge of staying awake throughout the night and in the process raised €1,350 for Pieta House and Sosad.
Last Friday the Boomerang members who took part were delighted to present the money they raised at their Stay Awake event to the two charities.
Dee from Pieta house and Siobhan from SoSad where presented with the money by the top fundraisers Ruby Grendon, Michealla Flanagan Owens and Jamie Everitt.
All together 23 members took and managed to raise €1,350 split between the two organisations.
