Water outage in North Drogheda to last until 10.00pm

They’ve been working since lunch time today, to repair a burst water main impacting homes and businesses north of Drogheda town and surrounding areas but they say that it could be as late as 10.00 pm before supply is restored in some areas.

However, customers in Patrick Street, Sandyford, Ballymakenny Road, Rathmullan Road, Laurences Park, Moneymore, Highlands and Trinity Street may continue to experience temporary outages.

Pearse Park is expected to be reconnected around 7.00 pm but it could be another two to three hours for normal supply to be restored.

To ensure the safety of the public and crews carrying out the repairs to the burst, traffic management is in place and clearly signposted.

Michael Cunniffe of Irish Water said that the repairs are being conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the area and restore water for all customers.

“We understand the inconvenience bursts can have on customers and we appreciate your patience as we work to return the water supply to homes and businesses as quickly as possible” he said.
