As part of the Boyne Valley Trails, and in celebration of the Púca Festival 2021, community historian, Brendan Matthews will be presenting “Samhain: A walk through the Dale at Summer`s End”.
Beginning at the D Hotel on Sunday October 31st at 2.30 pm. Brendan will lead a Walk n Talk through the beautiful Dale area of Drogheda where he will speak about the early settlement at Drogheda prior to the foundation of the town by the Normans in the later 12th century.
Listen to the Mythology Tales, the significance of the local Oral History and local Folklore in relation to our History and Heritage of the Great Boyne River and the many characters and events that have shaped our Storied Past over time”.
The Walk n Talk Tour will ascend from the Dale to the Old Hill overlooking St. Mary`s Church and will finish up at the Great earthen Mound at Millmount at around 3.30 pm. Places are limited and must be booked in advance by logging on to https://boynevalleytrails.ie/#
