Twelve years on Boomerang as busier than ever with projects for young people

The Boomerang Youth Centre and Café on Fair Street is one of Drogheda’s greatest success stories.

Since it opened in 2013, Boomerang has been a place where young people can meet old friends, make new ones and access all the services and supports that they need.

It is also a place where they can learn new skills, play music and express themselves in a myriad different ways.

Ever since that opening day in 2013 Boomerang has been a hive of activity and this year is no different with a very busy start to the year so far, including:

  • A parenting support course that’s been running over the past 6 weeks.
  • Spearheading Youth Connect Fest in the Laurence centre on January 25th.
  • Relaunching our cafe with a high-spec barista machine and loyalty cards.
  • A visit from Drogheda’s mayor to help the ‘cyrptic guys’ with their recycling spree.
  • And a group trip to Megacon!

It looks like the upcoming weeks will be just as busy! Over Easter they’ll be running a multi-activities camp for 5 euro per day.

On the 16th of April, they’ll be hosting a youth market, which will be open to the public and have market stalls ran by young people, with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and community.
