The Boomerang Youth Centre and Café on Fair Street is one of Drogheda’s greatest success stories.
Since it opened in 2013, Boomerang has been a place where young people can meet old friends, make new ones and access all the services and supports that they need.
It is also a place where they can learn new skills, play music and express themselves in a myriad different ways.
Ever since that opening day in 2013 Boomerang has been a hive of activity and this year is no different with a very busy start to the year so far, including:
- A parenting support course that’s been running over the past 6 weeks.
- Spearheading Youth Connect Fest in the Laurence centre on January 25th.
- Relaunching our cafe with a high-spec barista machine and loyalty cards.
- A visit from Drogheda’s mayor to help the ‘cyrptic guys’ with their recycling spree.
- And a group trip to Megacon!
It looks like the upcoming weeks will be just as busy! Over Easter they’ll be running a multi-activities camp for 5 euro per day.
On the 16th of April, they’ll be hosting a youth market, which will be open to the public and have market stalls ran by young people, with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and community.
