Tullyallen Macra compete in National Beef Stock Judging

Two members Tullyallen Macra na Feirme took part in the National Round of the Beef Stock Judging – Sam Gogan in the under 23 category and Leah Mullen at senior level.

The National beef stock judging was held over the weekend in Mountbellew Agricultural College- with an academic exam to begin the day, carcase grading of beef heifers, live weight guessing of light stores and then stock judging and reasons on replacement heifers.

Sam did extremely well coming second in the under 23 category.

Leah Mullen, who is also the Tullyallen Macra PRO, told Drogheda Life that they are always looking for new members who do not have to be from a farming background.

“We have plenty of activities to suit everyone” Leah said. All the club’s events are well documented on our social media pages – Facebook and Instagram – @ tullyallenmacra

“The next club meeting is taking place this Sunday the 5th of November at 7.30 in Dolly Mitchells. If you are interested in joining Macra, why not come along and see what the craic is all about?”
