Three more international call-ups for Ace AC

It was another great day for Ace Athletics Club on Saturday. This time at the national schools cross country in Tallaght Dublin.  Top ten finishers were rewarded with an international schools call ups. 

Ace AC had no less than three athletes who subsequently qualified for next month’s international including Eimear Cooney representing Sacred Heart in 5th & Sholah Lawernce from Greenhills in 6th in the Inter girls 3.5km. Both girls will now run together on the same Irish team. 

Another international qualifier was St Mary’s Diocesans Lorcan Forde Dunne in the Inter boys 5km.
This will be Eimears 5th Irish vest, Sholahs 3rd and Lorcans very first International appearance. Lorcan has been one of the most dedicated athletes in Louth in recent years and his hard work paid off with this remarkable 8th place finish.  

In the same race as Lorcan, Shay O’Donnell finished in a strong 30th, and followed further down the field by Rhys Clarke, Fergus Nolan and Jamie O’Reilly, all of whom were part of a gold medal winning St Mary’s Diocesan team.

The international Schools Cross country will take place next month in Abbottstown in Dublin later this month.
