Of Saints and Sinners: Presented by community historian Brendan Matthews
Historian Brendan Matthews will present the hilarious tale of a young child, a Drogheda Priest, a bar of soap and a pair of trousers at the Barbican Centre, William Street, on Tuesday November 1st.
The year 1909 was at the height of the Edwardian period. Fashion amongst the middle classes became very popular, High Street shops, cafe`s, cinema, photography, style and entertainment became the order of the day.
The commercial advertising and marketing campaign of manufacturers and businesses was also in full swing.
One such advertisement, for an essential household product, however, caused international headlines when it went on public display in Drogheda.
Beginning at 8.00 pm and lasting around 45 minutes to one hour.
Tickets cost €8 and are available at the door.
