The Cooley Camino for Rape Crisis North East

Rape Crisis North East are struggling to meet the ever increasing demand on their services and are asking the good people of Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan to join them on a 10k sponsored walk on 12th September 2021.

Each participant will be asked to raise €100 (10 sponsors at €10).  The walk will start in Carlingford Car Park by the seafront and end in the Foy Centre for refreshments, music and heartfelt gratitude.

This stunning walk will be led by Clodagh McKevitt of Anam Tours who will regale everyone with tall and short tales of the surrounding landscape and folklore.

It will go up the mountain via the Tain Way, veer left towards Barnavave and the Cross, down by the deserted village and back via a scenic route facing the Mourne Mountains.

With some decent weather and Covid pending, this promises to be a day of feelgood fun.  “We are hoping to see a very long snake of people wearing our tee-shirts, scaling the Cooley mountains in support of this vital and much needed service”, said RCNE Manager, Grace McArdle.

Should Covid prevent this happening on 12th September, it will simply be postponed for another date.
