Judging by comments on social media everyone has their own ideas about how the town/city of Drogheda could be made a better place to live and work.
Facebook and Twitter are easy ways to express your frustrations with issues such as traffic congestion, and God knows, we’ve plenty of that, transport, shopping or whatever is bugging you, but does it reach the right people, i.e. the people who can make changes?
It seems that Louth County Council is damned if they do and damned if they don’t but now they have teamed up with a team from Queens University Belfast to find out what the people of Drogheda do actually want for their town, specifically the town centre.
So, if you have issues with access or the quality of footpaths, parking facilities or safety at night, parks and green spaces, restaurants, live music and events, cleanliness or whatever else, you are invited t o have your say. Perhaps you’d like to see streets being pedestrianised or more facilities for cycling or just walking the street.
Maybe you’ve seen something in towns when you’ve been holidaying abroad and thought to yourself: ‘that’s a great idea, I wish they’d do something like that in Drogheda.’
Whatever you’d like to see happen to improve the town centre, here is an opportunity to let the Council know how you feel.
All information collected will be entirely anonymous and will feed into an MSc Planning and Development student project.
The information will be shared with Louth County Council and used as part of their information gathering process for the Drogheda Local Area Plan.
