A number of occupants of a house in Scarlet Crescent were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for assessment last night after what Gardaí are calling “a suspected criminal damage by fire incident” that occurred at approximately 12:30am.
The fire was extinguished by local fire services but one person remains in hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Scarlet Crescent area between midnight and 12:40am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
