The Summer Stars programme is back in a library near you and staff are looking forward to providing an exciting children’s programme throughout the summer.
Summer Stars is a free reading programme for children taking place in all public libraries, which encourages children to read for enjoyment during their summer holidays.
Louth Library Service is providing Summer Star bags and activity packs highlighting the national reading programme for children during the summer tying in with the Right to Read Programme.
Throughout the summer, families are encouraged to visit their local library branch to borrow books, for Art & Crafts and Children’s Storytime.
Summer Stars will be launched on Saturday 17th of June when all five library branches will celebrate “Sign up Saturday”. We are encouraging parents to bring along their children to join the library, if not already members, and sign up for Summer Stars.
Louth Library Service will also run a Summer Stars competition to win a day entry family pass for Dublin Zoo, just be sure to return your Summer Stars reading card to your local library branch to be in with a chance of winning this great prize.
There are lots of events happening throughout the summer so keep an eye on social media at Louth Library Service on Facebook and Instagram.
All children joining must have parental consent and membership is free.
