Councillor Kevin Callan has said that the quality of grass cutting in public areas around the town is ridiculously unacceptable.
At the March Borough Meeting, the Councillor said that estates where contractors are engaged by the residents generally have cutting to a much higher standard.
“These works on public green areas are carried out by contractors who we as a council engage to do a public service, the levels of work are simply not acceptable” he said.
“We have grass being cut and not collected, being scattered over footpaths and movers driving through rubbish and litter which spreads it everywhere.
“We must ensure that public contracts like this are supervised and managed correctly. The appearance of the town is impacted by this type of work when not carried out to a high standard.”
