The video shares a Christmas a powerful musical message of unity and hope through the The Housemartins’ song “Caravan of Love”.
The choice of Caravan of Love was an inspired one because it is a song for everyone, it transcends the many boundaries that have grown up in society over the years and plays to our similarities rather than our differences.
The video is a culmination of various activities at the school over the Christmas period during which the students and teachers raised €5,000 for local charities through the school’s Christmas Fair and “Wear Pink” Day – €2,000 for St. Vincent de Paul, €1,500 for the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre and €1,500 for the NECRET Oncology Unit.
The wonderful lyrics of Caravan of Love are all about human connection and the healing power of coming together in troubled times and there is a big message there for us all.
