The students at St. Mary’s Diocesan School have proved once again that they understand the needs of the less well off in the local community and have raised over €4,500 for people that are struggling this Christmas.
On Friday they presented a cheque for €1600 from Ms Delany, to the society of St Vincent De Paul. The St. Mary’s TY students collected another €1509.73 for the same cause by holding the Flag Day in Drogheda on Thursday. A huge thank you to all who donated to this very worthy cause.”
“On Friday the 9th of December members of the School’s student council had another fundraiser, a Christmas jumper day, and this time the funds were split between Drogheda Homeless Aid and SOSAD.
Students and teachers were asked to donate if they could to the charities on their way into school that morning and they made €875 for the charities.
The members of the student council involved in the setting up of this project were Patrick Flynn, Jamie Martin, Keane Caffrey and Jamie O’Reilly.”
Finally, Ms Kearney and students from TYB held a raffle of items kindly donated from local businesses and raised a brilliant €558 for the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre.
