TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROADS
SECTION 75 ROADS ACT, 1993
Louth County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close sections of the M1 from Junction 10 to Junction 18 at night-time on various dates over an eight week period to facilitate Celtic Roads Group (CRG) to facilitate PAVEMENT works.
The Closures & Diversion route will be as follows:
- Southbound within sections of the M1 between Junction 18 to Junction 10 – within the period 7th April 2024 – 8th June 2024.
Diversion using the following national, regional and local roads; N52 (Dundalk Inner Relief Road), N53, R132, N51.
Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between the hours of 19.30-06.30. - Northbound within sections of the M1 between Junction 8 to Junction 10 – within the period 7th April 2024 – 8th June 2024.
Diversion using the following national, regional and local roads; R152, R108, R132 (old N1), N51, L1601 Donore Road.Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between the hours of 19.30-06.30. - Junctions 11 and Junction 13– Diversion using the following national, regional and local roads; Newtown Rd (Tinure to Mullary Cross), R132 (old N1), N51, R170. Diversions will be in place, at night time only, between the hours of 19.30-06.30.
The total duration of the roadworks is expected to be eight weeks, during which time the motorway mainline, interchange slip roads, roundabouts and side roads may be closed. It is the intention of Celtic Roads Group (CRG) to minimise the number of and duration of road closures within the above period.
Contingency has been included in the eight week period to allow for disruption to works due to weather conditions etc. and every effort will be made to complete works in less than eight weeks.
For up to date information, notifications will be published on AA Roadwatch and on LMFM Radio.
Any person who wishes to object to any of the closures should lodge an objection in writing (envelope clearly marked “Road Closure objection”) to the undersigned not later than 12.00 noon on Friday 29th March 2024.
