One of Drogheda’s most prolific authors, Ricky Gerrard, is working on his next study on two aspects of Drogheda’s past and he is seeking the public’s assistance.
This project has two parts, unconnected apart from the fact that they are to be presented in the same volume.
The first part is a history of the “Boyne Yacht Club” which was founded in 1955 and seems to have ended around the end of the 1970’s.
The Boyne Yacht Club was based on the Boyne at Mornington near where the Boyne enters the sea. Ricky would be delighted to hear from anybody with any information, or photos about the Yacht Club.
Ricky’s second project may seem a little more complicated. It is called “Poetry from Schools in St. Mary’s Parish, Drogheda”.
This section will include poems composed by pupils, male or female, who attended some school in St. Mary’s Parish, Drogheda.
