Public urged to have say on Julianstown Traffic Relief Scheme before deadline

Cllr Sharon Tolan is calling on residents across Julianstown, Laytown, Bettystown, Mornington, Duleek, Drogheda and the wider East Meath area to take part in Meath County Council’s public consultation on the Julianstown Traffic Relief Scheme, ahead of the survey closing on Monday, March 30.

The scheme is aimed at delivering a long awaited solution to ongoing traffic congestion in Julianstown and has now reached a stage where public feedback will help shape the design and direction of the project.

Cllr Tolan said the consultation is a key opportunity for the community to have its say.

Julianstown has been carrying an unsustainable traffic burden for far too many years. This consultation is a vital opportunity for residents, commuters, businesses, and community groups to shape the future traffic solution for the village. Every submission counts, and I am appealing to everyone with an interest in the area to take just a few minutes to complete the survey before the deadline.

The survey forms part of Meath County Council’s work with consultants to identify and progress a suitable relief option that addresses safety concerns, improves quality of life for residents and supports development in the East Meath region.

Cllr Tolan said:

A strong response from the public will send a clear message that this project must continue progressing at pace. Please share the link with neighbours, family, and friends and encourage them to take part. This is our chance to make sure the lived experience of the community informs the final plans.

The survey is available online through Meath County Council’s consultation portal.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 30 and the survey can be accessed at http://www.julianstowntrafficrelief.ie/.
