‘In The Blue Of The Night’ launch gig in McHugh’s, February 26
Paddy Goodwin and his Holy Ghosts like to mix it with the stars when they’re recording and so it is with their new single “In The Blue of the Night” which is to be launched with a gig in McHughs on February 26.
The single features Paddy himself on Vocals, Bass and Guitars. Anthony Thistlethwaite (The Waterboys and The Saw Doctors) on Sax, Jim Lockhart of Horslips on Keyboards, Shane Power of The Guggenheim Grotto on Drums and Paul Brady on Vocals.
Art work is by Tim Booth of Doctor Strangely Strange. The song was engineered and recorded by Jason Varley at the Shop Studio Carlingford.
Paddy Goodwin has played with such renowned names as Horslips and Wayne Kramer from MC5. He also played on and produced an album for Henry McCullough called Poor Man’s Moon in 2008.
He also plays guitar in the well-known new wave band The Atrix renowned for songs such as “Treasure on the Wasteland” and “The Moon is Puce”.
Paddy’s band the Holy Ghosts has featured many guest artists over the years from Boxer Barry McGuigan to Pulitzer Prize Winning Poet Paul Muldoon.
Amongst the other people that have played as part of his Holy Ghosts collective are Paul Brady, Pat McCabe, Josh McClorey, Johnny Gallagher, Jack L, Mundy, Brush Shiels, Philip Donnelly, Henry McCullough, Victor McCullough, Neil Jordan, and Brian Downey from Thin Lizzy.
As if that didn’t keep him busy enough he also works in the day job as one of the country’s top criminal lawyers.
