Olga Foundation Christmas Campaign raises funds for Drogheda Homeless Aid

The Olga Foundation was established in 2021 following the tragic death of Olga Tinashe Zishiri, who passed away in May 2020 at just 16 years of age. Olga was a former student of St Mary’s Parish Primary School and Sacred Heart Catholic Secondary School.

The foundation’s mission is to prevent suicide and raise awareness of mental health challenges, particularly among young people of school-going age. It aims to identify those experiencing silent mental health struggles or the pressures and anxieties often faced by teenagers, and to connect them with appropriate support and services.

This Christmas, the Olga Foundation has been giving back to the community that continues to support its work throughout the year. As a suicide awareness and prevention charity, the foundation recognises that the festive season can be a difficult and overwhelming time for many individuals and families.

Through its Christmas campaign, the Olga Foundation sought to spread kindness, peace and love by supporting those experiencing loneliness, grief, homelessness or mental health difficulties. A key focus of the campaign was reminding people that they are not alone, and that support, compassion and understanding are available.

The foundation has extended its sincere thanks to everyone who took part in the Christmas campaign through donations, lighting a candle or sharing the message. Proceeds raised through the campaign will be donated to Drogheda Homeless Aid.
