Clogherhead’s Dreadnots GFC has teamed up with the charity Jigsaw Ireland which is at the forefront of understanding the mental health needs and experiences of young people, to help raise awareness about children’s mental health.

On Saturday 24th July at 11am they'll be taking part in a walk “Around The Head For The Head”.

Since Covid has become part of our lives the effects on children’s mental health is a worry for many and the Dreadnots GFC are looking to help raise awareness about the issue.

“We have a beautiful headland walk on our doorstep here in Clogherhead, which is getting used now more than ever before” said organiser Verna Gorman.  “So we have decided to do a walk around the head with all our club members.

“The walk is called “Around The Head For The Head” and it is a play on walking across the headland and using this time to clear your head and take a break for any worries you might have.”

“All of our teams from seniors right down to our young juveniles, as well as members of our club will be wearing our club colours on the walk.

“We will be starting at the beach and walk to the harbour and back again.  We are hoping that people will come out and join in to support us on this event.”

All funds raised are going towards Jigsaw Ireland through there iDonate portal -
