Droichead Arts Centre’s new Night Moves night club programme gets underway this Friday night, Feb 2, and is expected to transform what is already a beautiful space into something quite captivating and definitely worth staying up for!
With music by DJ Timmy Tra in the gallery, a bespoke art installation by visual artist Vivienne Byrne and more music in the theatre from Greenshine, a family trio comprising Noel Shine, Mary Greene and their daughter Ellie, there really is much to enjoy.
Based in Cork, Greenshine straddle the boundaries of Folk, Indie and Americana with outstanding harmonies, skilful string work and fine song writing – have featured on Irish airwaves for many years. Their music has travelled far beyond their homeland and into the waiting ears of music lovers worldwide.
Supporting Greenshine will be Seanie Vaughan, an indie rock and folk artist from Connemara who has been based in Drogheda for over a decade. In 2011 his debut album “Altered Vision” which reached no.5 in the Irish Indie Album Charts. His second album, “Redemption” released in 2015, also received high praise from national and international press.
With Night Moves, Droichead has put together an intriguing programme designed to provide new and engaging night time cultural experiences across Drogheda and East Meath.

Produced by Droichead Arts Centre, and delivered with curators SJ McArdle, Brian Hegarty, 33-45, Brenda McComesky and Dorothy Smith, promoters and alternative venues, and in partnership with Love Drogheda BIDS, supported by the Arts Offices in Louth & Meath County Councils, and the newly established Night-Time Economy Advisor in Drogheda.
Aligned with the Late-Night Events vision and Droichead’s strategy 22-26, the programme encapsulates our vision of extending cultural offerings, fostering partnerships, and creating diverse opportunities for artists and audiences alike, and is funded under the Arts Council’s Late Night Events (Pilot Programme) in partnership with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media.
