Boyne TradFest, a new festival of traditional Irish music and song, runs from 22nd – 24th September 2023 in Drogheda featuring over 35 artists across three days, with a wide range of events to include music workshops, traditional Irish music sessions, recitals and singing sessions.
The weekend’s line-up of artists includes the very best in traditional Irish music, featuring Catherine McEvoy (flute), Gay McKeon (uilleann pipes), Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh (concertina), Dónal McCague (fiddle), Cormac de Barra (harp) and Martha Guiney (tin whistle), as workshop tutors and recital performers.
Music workshops take place on Saturday 23rd September from 10am – 1pm and are aimed at learners of traditional Irish music.
Our artists then take to the stage for a wonderful Saturday afternoon of music at McHugh’s Venue from 2:30pm – 4:00pm with special guests, John and Jacinta McEvoy.
With 13 sessions of traditional Irish music and song taking place over the weekend, there is no shortage of events to attend and experience traditional Irish music at its best.

Featuring winners of ‘TG4’s Young Musician of the Year’ Diarmuid Ó Meachair (2022), Dónal McCague (2013) and Conor McEvoy (2009), newly crowned All-Ireland senior duet champions Ciara Tighe and Áine Murphy (2023), All-Ireland solo winners in senior banjo and mandolin, George McAdam (2015) in senior tin-whistle, James McCaffrey (2015), and winner of BBC’s Northern Ireland Young Musicians’ Platform Award for 2023, Martha Guiney, this exciting weekend of music promises to be a memorable one!
