CS. Lewis’s gifts of imagination and storytelling owe much to his Irish origins. Ireland was his constant holiday destination throughout his life.
The ‘Wee’ County of Louth, the village of Annagassan and the Golden Arrow guesthouse in Salterstown became an important refuge for him and his brother Warren.
The Glyde Inn was their evening place of relaxation and refreshment before they walked the three miles at low tide along the beach to Salterstown.
Those previously unexplored links between Lewis and Co. Louth are addressed by Paul Clayton-Lea in this anniversary tribute which commemorates 60 years since the death of the creator of the beloved land of Narnia.
The book will be launched in the Glyde Inn on Thursday, 15 September 2022 at 2.30pm.
