National Virtual Sandcastle Competition 2021 winners announced

The results of the National Sandcastle Competition, which this year was a virtual event open to anyone in the country to enter photos of their sand creations have just been announced.

The organisers of the competition say they were overwhelmed with the number of entries this year which speaks to the event’s continued success.

“We have hosted this event on Bettystown Beach, Co. Meath, since 2003,” said a spokesperson.

“This year’s virtual competition was intended to be a COVID-SAFE alternative with physical distancing for public safety.

“Hopefully we will resume our spot on the beach for 2022 and get back to enjoying our great natural resource together.”
