Minister of State Thomas Byrne visits Inver Colpa Rowing Club

Minister of State Thomas Byrne visited Inver Colpa Rowing Club recently accompanied by Councillor James Byrne, to hear about the club’s plan for expansion since receiving planning permission for a boathouse along the Boyne at Marsh Road.

Martin Murphy, one of the founding members of the club, along with James McKevitt, Chairperson, Darragh Farrell, Treasurer, and Glenda Murphy, Secretary, were all there to meet Thomas and James and show them visuals of the expansion plans.

Speaking afterwards, James Byrne stated:

The Inver Colpa Rowing Club is a fantastic asset for the area and a welcome sight on the Boyne River. I want to wish the committee well with its development plans and look forward to seeing the club thrive in the years ahead.

Thomas Byrne was also very impressed with the future plans, stating:

“I was delighted to visit Inver Colpa Rowing Club with Cllr James Byrne.  The club is going from strength to strength and reinvigorating a local tradition on the Boyne and at sea.”
