Michael’s first concert in two years in memory of those who passed in pandemic

Local composer and pianist Michael Holohan returns to the stage for the first time in nearly two years on Saturday night coming, September 25th, for a concert at the Droichead Arts Centre alongside fellow composer and pianist, Úna Keane.

Michael views this concert, which starts at 8.00 pm, as an act of remembrance celebrating the lives of old relatives and friends who passed away during the pandemic.

Michael’s last public concert ‘The Airs of old Drogheda and Angels we have heard on High’ was held in the Augustinian Church in December 2019 before the dreaded Covid Pandemic took root.

The virus has severely disrupted Michael, Mick O’Brien and the Boyne Valley Chamber Orchestra’s plans for making a CD of ‘The Airs’.

Hopefully, this important musical and historical project can be revived in the near future.

On Saturday Michael will perform a selection of his published and recorded piano compositions along with a few of his lesser known works.
