Meath County Council Library Service has launched a special initiative designed to support children and adults with learning difficulties, disabilities or more significant needs.
Called “Toys, Technology and Training” the initiative offer toys and other resources which can be accessed free of charge in branches throughout the county with the TTT membership card.
The collection was chosen by the staff of Meath County Council Library Service in partnership with therapists and other professionals working in the community.
As part of the initiative, they will host an annual series of free lectures, recordings and workshops which will offer further guidance, support and networking opportunities for parents, teachers and healthcare professionals.
Chief Executive of Meath County Council, Jackie Maguire described Toys, Technology and Training as “a very worthwhile initiative” adding that “the resources being launched today will strengthen our delivery of an inclusive library service”.
For up to date details of future talks and events relating to the TTT initiative you can join the mailing list at libraryhq@meathcoco.ie.
Attendance at all of the events is free of charge and open to everyone but advance booking is required.
The TTT initiative was part-funded by a grant from the Dormant Accounts Fund, a fund designed to support programmes that enhance the development of economically or socially marginalised persons and those with disabilities.
