Meath County Council publishes 2025 gender pay gap report

Meath County Council has released its 2025 Gender Pay Gap Report, outlining the average difference in pay between men and women across the organisation.

The data shows a gender pay gap of 6.09%, meaning that on average men are paid 6.09% more than women. However, the median gender pay gap tells a different story, with the median pay for women 4.43% higher than that of men.

All Irish employers with more than 50 staff must publish their gender pay gap data before the end of 2025, using a set reference date. For local authorities nationwide, including Meath County Council, that reference date was 30 June 2025.

Chief Executive Kieran Kehoe said the Council remains committed to promoting fairness, equality and inclusivity in the workplace.

“We are committed to fostering an open and inclusive community at Meath County Council and to addressing any workplace barriers to equality. Our employees have equal opportunities for recognition and career development and are treated fairly and equitably,” he said.

Mr Kehoe added that local authority staff play a vital role in shaping communities across Meath.

“As an employer, we strive to offer a positive and supportive environment for all our employees, including excellent training and development opportunities, career progression, blended working, and flexible, family-friendly arrangements. Meath County Council is a fantastic place to work.”
