Independent Councillor Paddy Mc Quillan has called for a Changing Places toilet facility to be included in in the refurbishment of Dominican Church to a state of the art library.
“I have been campaigning for a Changing Places facility for Drogheda for years” McQuillan said. “These facilities allow people with disabilities who have specific needs participate in social cultural and economic activity.
“I welcome the funding that has been granted to the town to develop the Dominican Church and I feel that this is a unique opportunity for Drogheda to state that we are inclusive to all. I will liaise with the council to explore how this facility can come to fruition with this development.”
“Individuals that require the use of Changing Places facilities should have access to them. This is a modern society and we should be providing for the most vulnerable members of our communities.”
