Mayor of Drogheda Councillor James Byrne says he is delighted to see swift action from Louth County Council in partnering up with Mapalerter following his call at the July monthly meeting that it improve its communications with the public.
“It is now possible to sign up to www.mapalerter.ie or download the Mapalerter app to receive localised alerts via text, email and app notifications from Louth County Council” he said.
“Louth is now one of 19 Local Authorities using the service so people can stay informed and stay safe with relevant local alerts about water disruptions, boil water notices, road works/diversions, planning activity, severe weather and floods.”
There is a sign up link on the website where you can set up your free mapalerter account and pin point your location to ensure the alerts you receive are always relevant.
If you sign up to the service you will receive free alerts from the Council before important events take place in your area. You’ll get prior notice of water disruptions, boil water notices, and localized road works that may affect you. You will also get alerts for planning acitvity in your area.
