Marcy hotel donates €3,000 to Louth Specialist Palliative Care after Halloween ball success

The Marcy Hotel in Drogheda has presented a donation of €3,000 to Louth Specialist Palliative Care following the success of its Halloween Ball, which took place on Sunday, 26 October 2025. The presentation was held at the hotel this week, with representatives from both The Marcy team and Louth Specialist Palliative Care in attendance.

The Halloween Ball brought colour, music and community spirit to Drogheda, transforming the venue into a lively celebration in support of vital palliative care services in the region. Guests enjoyed a high-energy performance from The Enemies, followed by a late-night DJ set that kept the celebrations going into the early hours.

This year’s event was part of the Lú Festival Drogheda, adding to the excitement of one of the town’s busiest weekends. All proceeds from ticket sales were donated directly to Louth Specialist Palliative Care, helping to fund essential services that support patients and families throughout the county.

Valerie Sherlock of The Marcy Hotel said the fundraiser held special significance for the team.
“The family, along with our mum Marie, chose to support Louth Specialist Palliative Care after we needed their services when our dad passed away earlier this year. We are delighted to give back to the team who supported us. The generosity of our guests and the wider community made this event truly memorable.”

Monique McGivern of Louth Specialist Palliative Care expressed her gratitude.
“We are deeply appreciative of this wonderful donation from The Marcy Hotel. Community fundraising plays a crucial role in enabling us to continue offering compassionate, high-quality care to those who rely on our services. Events like the Halloween Ball raise both funds and awareness, strengthening the connection within the community.”

The Marcy Hotel has extended its thanks to everyone who attended, supported, dressed up and helped make the Halloween Ball a standout event that will have a lasting impact on those who depend on palliative care services in Louth.
