Louth Plein Air Art Festival returns to Beaulieu and Carlingford

Saturday 16th July at Carlingford and Sunday 17th July 2022 at Beaulieu House and Gardens

Following on from the success of the 2021 Louth Plein Air Art Festival at Beaulieu House and Gardens, Drogheda and the feedback requests from attendees, the organisers have extended this year’s event to two days and two venues.

Artists, take yourself off to Carlingford on Saturday 16 July for the day and meander around the cobble streets, the harbour or marina; find a perfect spot to pull out your canvas and paint a masterpiece.  Or..

Beaulieu House and Gardens on the banks of the River Boyne has much to offer the artist with stately home, walled gardens, woods, church and graveyard all on site.  Last year participating artists found themselves without enough time with so much choice of subject matter to paint

The Festival is at Beaulieu all day Sunday 17 July 2022 from 9.30am to 5pm and artists wishing to participate are advised to register early at Eventbrite. The registration fee for attending is €35 – for one or both days, you decide.

Professional artists Richard Moore, Henry McGrane and Ciaran Dunlevy will be running a workshop or mentoring throughout the Festival for an additional add on charge to the registration fee.  All details are on the Eventbrite page.

The organiser of the festival, passionate artist Leonora Reilly, said that her goal was to share the pleasure of painting outdoors with other like-minded artists, to introduce them to the sense of calm, joy and overall peacefulness as you lose yourself in the surroundings and become absorbed in the painting process.  Meeting other like-minded artists and trying new experiences.

“There is no better feeling than being out in the fresh air creating art with other artists and the feeling of accomplishment at the end of day” she said.

There will be a registration tent on the grounds for all artists to sign in on the morning and be provided with their information for the day ahead.  This Tent will be manned throughout the day for queries or assistance needed.

Parking in the grounds of Beaulieu House will be €5.  The carpark is a short walk from the Main House and Gardens.
